Introducing Hudson Made Soaps: Produced in the Hudson Valley of New York State these soaps are effective, handsome and best of all they are locally made.
For the bearded man and his clean-shaven brother, this multi-purpose disc generates a lather that acts as both a gentle beard shampoo and an exceptional shaving cream. The Cedar Clove Beard & Shave Soap ($24) produces a russet lather that tempers a bristly beard’s texture. Its woody spice — derived from cedar leaf, cinnamon, allspice and clove. The Citron Neroli Beard & Shave Soap ($24) is blended with organic oils of petitgrain, white grapefruit, neroli and cedar wood. Neroli oil, produced from the delicate blossoms of the bitter orange tree, has been revered for its distinct balance of sweet, spicy and floral notes since the 17th century. The Original White Beard & Shave Soap ($24) is lightly scented with essential oils of petitgrain, cedarwood, juniper needle, myrrh and black pepper — perfect for a reviving and refreshing morning grooming ritual, whether your beard is nurtured or nullified.
Worker’s Soap ($19.50) This small batch artisanal product is for the man (or woman) who understands that being good with your hands means being good to your hands. Whether your dukes are calloused from carpentry, weary from woodworking or pencil-stained from paper-pushing, our Worker’s Soap provides your hands with a heavy-duty, capable clean. And it’s not just a hand soap: natural pumice makes it perfectly suited for scrubbing tough spots like elbows and feet. Endowed with the unburdening aromas of tobacco, cedar and patchouli, Worker’s Soap has a scent that is nothing short of hardy and strapping. It will leave your hands soft, refreshed and ever ready for the next big project. Handcrafted in the Western Adirondacks.
Scullery Soap ($19.50) Made from locally harvested ingredients like rose geranium oil, mineral salt, and all natural beeswax of the finest quality, this cleansing soap, made exclusively for Hudson Made, is perfectly suited for hands and forearms hard at work in the kitchen. Beeswax soap is a harder, longer lasting, tough soap that helps hands resist dryness and irritation caused by frequent washing. Leaves skin smooth and clean, ready to rustle up a meal or indulge in one.
Part of the working class culture since the Middle Ages, scullery soap would often appear in the servants’ quarters or kitchen annex as a utilitarian scrubbing bar. Hudson Made’s scullery soap pays homage to the tradition of the homestead and works well on all of your rough spots. It’s a soap for anyone who possesses a multitudinous passion for the kitchen or a hard day’s work—and for whatever those efforts may yield.
